Design of the renovation and extension of the project was handled by local firms MWM/YHLA and Carter Burgess Architects, Inc. NBA Engineering, Inc. designed the mechanical building.

The renovation of the existing building includes:

  • Installation of new baggage security systems;
  • Expansion of outbound baggage areas, ticket counters and passenger hold rooms;
  • Construction of additional vendor and retail areas; and
  • seismic upgrades.

The improvements extend the existing concourse further south by adding 108,000 square feet on two levels, including five additional aircraft gates and hold rooms, new vendor and retail areas, taxiways and apron.
